February 12, 2024 (Providence, RI) - Happy Victory Monday Pirates Fans! Your #5 Nationally Ranked Providence Pirates and the #20 Nationally ranked New York Hoop Dragons went toe to toe for the second time this season with the Pirates looking to get their revenge from earlier this season when the Hoop Dragons handed them their first and only loss of the season.

Providence has been on a roll to this point through the season with an outstanding 13-1 record with an 11 game winning streak. Looking to extend their winning streak to 12, the Hoop Dragons came into town looking to end the Pirates recent success and hand them their second loss on the season.

For a majority of the game, it was a low scoring affair and good defense was taking over. Heading into halftime, it was 57-53 Pirates in a game that seemed as if it could go either way up to this point. With a roaring crowd, the Pirates began to take over into the second half of play. It seemed as if guys were scoring with ease from the field.

The Pirates gameplay was too good to allow the Hoop Dragons to gain any ground on the team, winning 117-89 in a huge game. With the win the Pirates moved to 14-1 and extended their winning streak to 12 straight

Armani Baker was a big contributor to the team's success in getting their lead back to double digits. Baker  had 25 points and 9 rebounds which was just one shy of another double-double on the season for Baker. Armani was named the Pirates Player of the Game with his outstanding performance against the Hoop Dragons!

Shane DeRosa and Michael Mendes also played a major roles in the win. On the offensive side of the ball, DeRosa had 24 points and shooting 46% from the field while Mendes also had 24 points but also brought in 8 rebounds.

Tom Garrick Jr and Charles Adebayo played big roles off the bench for the Pirates. Garrick Jr had 16 points on 6-9 shooting while Adebayo played an important role when both Pirate bigs were on the bench. Adebayo grabbed 7 boards and had 8 points.
