February 26, 2024 (Providence, RI) - Happy Victory Monday Pirates Fans! Your #2 Nationally Ranked Providence Pirates (14-1) and the Mass Wolves (3-9) went head to head Saturday night in the Pirates last home game before the ABA Playoffs..

This season, the Wolves and Pirates have matched up three times with the Pirates coming out on top each time. The Pirates are looking to complete the season sweep of the Wolves this weekend.

Heading into the game, the Pirates were short handed once again. Shane DeRosa and Michael Mendes were selected to play with their Cape Verde national team this week, as two starters were missing, playing the Wolves who tend to give the Pirates a run for their money became just that much harder.

With DeRosa and Mendes out, multiple Pirates needed to step up to fill the holes left behind.

The Pirates named Tom Garrick Jr the Player of the Game against the Mass Wolves! Garrick Jr had 33 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals to propel the Pirates to the win.

With the win over the Wolves, the Pirates clinched the #1 overall seed in ABA East Blue Division and a win next weekend versus the NH Kingz, the team would also clinch the #1 overall seed in the ABA East Region.

The Pirates will host the play-in round winner on March 16 at the Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket. Tip-Off Time is TBD.

Providence Pirates action resumes on the road versus the NH Kingz on 3/2.

Tip-off is set for 6:05PM.
