March 25, 2024 (Providence, RI) - Happy Victory Monday Pirates fans! Your Providence Pirates took down the NH Kingz 118-116 in the ABA East Region Blue Divisional Championship! With the win, the Pirates extended their winning streak to 16 straight and moved to 9-0 at home!

This was the fourth matchup between the Pirates and Kingz. The Pirates have prevailed the three previous match-ups.

The Pirates and Kingz played a very back and forth game all night long. Both team traded leads and played a close and competitive game for all 48 minutes. Headed into half-time, the Pirates led 45-39 with their eyes set on a date to the Regional Final 4.

The Kingz rallied back in the third quarter to cut the Pirates lead down to 1 going into the last quarter of the game. With the NH Kingz and the Pirates both losing key members of their team via technical fouls, the last 12 minutes of the ABA East Region Blue Divisional Championship would be won by grit and toughness.

With both Providence and New Hampshire trading buckets in the 4th quarter, each bucket seemed to have an answer from the other team. Neither team was backing down from the moment.

New Hampshire held the lead 113-112 over the Pirates with 30 seconds remaining in the contest and the remaining time would be a wild 30 seconds.

Armani Baker took a floater and banked home the bucket to give Providence the lead. The Kingz answered hitting a go-ahead 3pt shot where the shooter was fouled leading to a 4 point play.

Providence was awarded a technical free throw to tie up the contest again.

Tom Garrick Jr was fouled on his 3-point attempt to go ahead of the Kingz. A late foul by Igor Almeida sent the Kingz back to the free throw line to once again.. tie up the contest.

With 7 seconds left, Garrick Jr controlled the ball and ran up court. Running down the lane, Garrick threw up a buzzer-beater, and 1, floater to win the contest and help Providence advance!

Tom Garrick Jr was then named the Pirates Player of the Game! Tom led the Pirates to victory with 35 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steal and 5 assists.
