Pirates Defeat the Bridgeport Kings on the road; Move to 12-1

February 5, 2024 (Providence, RI) - Happy Victory Monday Pirates Fans! Your #9 Nationally Ranked Providence Pirates faced off against the Bridgeport Kings and the Mass Wolves on the road in back to back games this weekend. Heading into the weekend, the Pirates have won 9 straight contests and are looking to continue their dominance.

Starting off with their second consecutive game against the Bridgeport Kings. Last weekend, the Kings made the ride up to Providence and were defeated 159-114. Now, the Pirates traveled down to Bridgeport with a short bench to battle with the Kings once again. Only having two subs and missing top scorer Tom Garrick Jr, the Pirates knew they were up for a tough game. It took until the third quarter for the Pirates to find their stride and start to pull away from the Kings but a 40 point quarter from Providence propelled the team to victory once again.

Armani Baker was the Pirates Player of the Game in the win against the Kings. Baker had 32 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists. This is Baker’s 2nd Player of the Game award of the season along with his 4th double-double thus far.

Michael Mendes and Kevin Briggs were aggressive on the boards, pulling down 12 rebounds each on the win. Mendes also had 23 points to complete his 4th double-double as well.

The win over Bridgeport extended the Pirates winning streak to 10 straight and brought the teams overall record to 12-1.

After the win in Bridgeport, the Pirates hit the road again for a date with the Mass Wolves on Sunday.
