Pirates makes it two in a row with the win over Boston.

The Pirates Saturday night hosted Boston Eighteen XCV in a rematch from earlier in the season, and had their most exciting game yet as a team. The teams started out strong, with Boston XCV taking an early lead. The squad from up north caught fire throughout the first half from three, and the Pirates had trouble guarding the perimeter as a result.
Starting guard Will Leviton’s strong defense held the XCV’s star point guard at bay for the half, but the Pirates needed an answer for the XCV’s strong beyond the arc play. Tyree Robinson battled an injury throughout the game, and the Pirates ended the half down 48-58.
But mid way through the third, the game changed for the better, and the Pirates began the strongest run of their season. Boston XCV had two key players fall into foul trouble, and the Pirates capitalized heavily. Led by an explosive offensive game, Avery King led the Pirates with 32 points and 7 assists. He led the Pirates offense down the stretch, and helped facilitate the ball all over the court as well. Starting center Isaac Medeiros had his best game of the season, and helped the Pirates run away with the score at the end of the game.
He had an impressive second half, and scored 28 points going 15 for 19 from the floor, while adding in 15 rebounds. Medeiros also had several defensive stops, which led to Pirates scores on the other end of the floor. The team also had strong showing from guard Cam Menefee (18 points) and forward Amani Baker (12 points). The Pirates won with a commanding score of 125-118, and after the game coach called this the “best team win we have had all season”.
Pirates to will have a home game this Saturday, April 10 where the NYC Black Eagles will travel to Rhode Island. Game will tip off at 5:00pm and will be at MacColl YMCA in Lincoln. Follow us on IG @PiratesABA for live interviews, score updates and live stream.
