After graduating from JWU, Tom played overseas in China, Mexico, and a couple other countries. Michael Mendes

Following the announcement of the prior three players all coming at the same time, 6'9 Michael Mendes was the fourth Pirates player to ink his name and secure his spot in Providence this season. Michael has played professionally in France, Spain, and Portugal. He has been a part of the Cape Verde national team for ten years. The Pirates see him as a great addition and much needed veteran presence as they start the long road ahead.

About Worcester Majors..

The Worcester Majors will surely be a worthy opponent for the exciting Pirates as they too look to start their year with a win.

"The Majors are an exciting, athletic team with great energy. The team is looking forward to establishing a great, but friendly rivalry with fellow New England Franchises like The Pirates," said AJ Stephens, the President/CEO of the Majors.

The Majors’ staff regard any given player on the team as a threat to have a great game. The Pirates will have to fight hard to subdue Worcester’s powerhouse offense

When asked about Saturday's matchup, Head Coach Bruce Marchand said, “We anticipate a fast paced and entertaining matchup with the Pirates!"
